Rebranding for a local carousel.

For this project, my class was all given the opportunity for recreating the brand identity for the Albany Carousel in Albany, Oregon. After presenting to the people who run the carousel, one of our designs would have been chosen to be the new look for the carousel.

They wanted to reach a new market of young adults and boys. As their current audience was older women and girls. So they asked for a gender neutral modern design that still had elements of the old and established designs of the over 100 year old carousel.

For my design, I used a sans-serif with iconography merged with it. It resembles the poles of the carousel and the real animals they have on it. The giraffe being the most popular with the kids and the hippocampus being the most popular with adults. I added the tagline on the bottom to pay off the whimsical motif of the logo.

I also created the “parade” pattern for collateral so they can show off their animals of the carousel on all types of media and contexts.

While my design was not picked, I am still proud of this branding I created.
